Suncoast Trail
Partial Review
41.3 miles alongside the Suncoast Parkway.
From southern end at Lutz Lake Fern Road in Hillsborough County
to the northern end at US 98 in the northern border of Hernando County.
Water and restrooms at numerous trailheads.

Natural Surface (Dirt) Trails

Alafia River State Park
One of the premier off-road sites in Florida. Many trails, big changes in elevation for Florida.
State Park.
Located on County Road 39, South of State Road 60. Full facilities, water, bathrooms, picnic, grills, camping.
The trails are built and maintained by the South West Association of Mountainbike Pedalers (SWAMP).

Balm Boyette Scrub Preserve
With lots of lakes on this series of trails, you can figure on seeing some wildlife.
No drinking water, Portable toilet.
This is a County Park, co-located with a hiking (read no bikes allowed) park across the road.
This is also a SWAMP built and maintained facility.

Lake Park
Small county park in the northwestern part of the county. 14 miles of trails. Picnic tables, water and bathrooms.
On North Dale Mabry, north of Ehrlich Road and south of Van Dyke Road.

Lake Rogers Park
2.5 miles of trails. County Park. Water available, restrooms unknown. 9010 North Mobley Road, just west of Gunn Highway.

Sydney Dover Trail – Ridden and Reviewed
7.5 miles of trails. Main trail is 4 miles.
No Drinking Water.
This is an County facility.

Wilderness Park
Five parks, miles and miles of trails. Water and restrooms.
SWFWMD owned and
County administered facility.
Another fine SWAMP maintained trail system.

County park. Trail based in history

Hillsborough River State Park
Paved: 2.2 mile Park Loop (I’m thinking this is the park road).
Natural Surface: 1.6 mile Wetlands Restoration Nature Trail.
Full facilities, concessions, RV-water/elec, dump station.
Park is northeast of Tampa on HWY 301, 9 miles north of Fowler Ave.
